The Folly Association of Business (FAB) made its annual check presentations for funds raised through various efforts Tuesday at the Folly Beach City Council meeting.
After a brief introduction by current FAB President and owner of Loggerhead's Beach Grill Ed Iames, former FAB president and owner of the Folly Beach Crab Shack Ron Hill presented a check in the amount of $10,000 to the City on behalf of the 40th of Folly Birthday Celebration.
Ben Bounds, owner of Follywood Productions, followed that up with a $3,000 check donation to Folly Beach Parks and Recreation from funds raised at the 24th Annual Sea and Sand Festival.
And Mike Zerola, owner of Folly Beach Shrimp Company, presented another $3,000 check to Parks and Recreation on behalf of Lewis Dodson, owner of Drop In Deli and Avondale Wine & Cheese, and the Taste of Folly committee.
The next sanctioned festival and fundraiser on Folly Beach will be the 7th Annual Follypalooza Cancer Benefit and Street Festival Saturday, October 18. The event is free to the public and will feature live music, carnival games, silent auction, 5K, food and art vendors and more.
